I was told i need a new wheel bearing for my front right wheel on a 1996 dodge ram. I called autozone and got a price for like 6ish dollars average. but when i told my dad, he said i would need a wheel race? race i beleive is what he said. but has anyone had to purchase this before and know about what the price would be? and possibly how long it will take to replace the bearings and such for the wheel?

wait you also said wheels wheels are easy but an old junky bike with steel wheels and handlebars isn;t worth $50 even in good condition you could get any number of non rusty equivalent bikes for less than the cost of repairs i mean fine do it if you want to learn otherwise it won;t be worth it it;s not all that HARD though you do have to get the right kind of back wheel, number of gears, frame spacing, diameter, etc the right kind will already be on the non-rusty $50 bike you COULD be buying.. maybe just sand the rust off, paint things, get new cables [cheap] and ride it that way and a set of wheels would be $50 too a whole bike would be $50 see the problem? unless you spend hours scanning ebay etc and you get exactly the right thing buying all that stuff from a bike store would be $40 for bars, $100 for wheels, $60 for labor, $5 for cables wle

The race comes with the bearing and it takes about an hour to do.

you wont get the race with the bearing unless you buy it that way-you have to ask for it.The race comes out by using a hammer and punch and goes back in the same way.
