For once I agree with the Dem's'. Its about time our Representatives were called to task. The American people should expect a five day work week from our civil servants . As far as an attack on families, give me a break how many of the working people in this country work a four day week and are given an over abundance of vacation time.. They need to regulate sick time and vacation time next . The big question is how long before they go back to their old ways....

Only if Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) thinks that a 5-day work week is damaging to all families and is making plans to introduce legislation to reduce it for all of us.

this is a stupid quote.
however, you guys need to lay off the members of congress a little bit. i was at breakfast with one at 8am today, and he had already been in his office answering emails for over an hour by this point. they get home at night at about 10pm. that's six days a week for most members. not being in dc does not equate to not working. each rep has at least two district offices that they spend time at on the weekends and during longer recesses.
while a five-day week in dc would cut into family time for some members (mostly the west coast ones with five-hour flights), it would cut into constituent time and fundraising time the most.
something i have learned over the years is do not doubt your member of congress. with a few exceptions, these individuals truly work hard for the people of their district.

Considering I get one day off a month during this time of the year, I can say that it most definitely makes me appreciate my time with my family MORE, and to appreciate my time off from work MORE. Perhaps they should think about getting the job done, instead of worrying about when their next vacation is

Indirectly it may be. Can anyone think of anything worse than politicians working harder to find ways to spend our money and pass more laws to help them get into our wallets? They should have a 1 day work week to give us a break.

I do not know many Americans that work 3 days a week and earn over $150,000, if you do not like the hours or the location of the job, DO NOT RUN. They should work at least 60hrs a week like most Americans.

I'd think being a politician of any kind means that you're most likely working every waking hour.
Cry Jack, cry.
