Is an extended warranty a good idea when purchasing a treadmill?

I'm wondering if an extended warranty is a good thing when buying a treadmill. I have been told that an extended warranty is one of the few things that you should purchase for a treadmill where most everything else its not worth it. Any suggestions? Thanks

Own and operate a health club- Buy the warranty, we do preventive maintenance on ours often but still have to have them serviced about once per year. Keep it dust free, and check your belt often for wear. Also listen for unusual noises...good sign of an issue before complete meltdown. Also check about a service plan they might offer.
