I bet its the brushes on the motor, when it reaches the spin cycle it just hasn't got the go in the motor to spin a heavey wet load of washing. How old is the machine and how often does it get used?
If its over 3years,and gets used a lot,and never had the brushes changed, check them, its an easy fix.

What program is it set on ? If you use the `delicate` program, the machine stops before spin, so that you can set it manually if you wish. Does the spin only cycle work? If it does, but the spin on the normal wash doesn`t, the solenoid valve may have broken.

There is a small switch under the door it stops the machine from spinning when the door is open. Check to see if it is stuck or bent.

Most likely cause is carbon brushes in the motor, easy to replace should cost £15-£20. The come in plastic holders & are held in place by 2 screws.

It is most likely a broken belt or a problem with your timer. If the washing machine is new, it may be a problem with the circuit board. If I new the brand name and the year you bought it, I'd be able to give you a better diagnosis.

Could it be that your having transmission failure? My mom's washer broke this past weekend, the agitator stoped working it was something to do with the transmission. But that was something to do with the agitator, i don't know if the spinning has anything to do with it. The repairman who we talked to said that he had some experience in transmission failure, and that it was expensive to fix. So we ended up having to buy a new washer.

Have you tried setting it to spin, so say you had a spin speed it could be on no speed.
