They probably would have done the same as UF but better. You know, they wouldn't have lost to Auburn. Ha. People who think the SEC is the "best" conference need to check their heads. I agree, there is no "best" conference. Florida fans need to cling to their whole conference because one team on their own isn't good enough ;)

People don't realize how good of a conference the SEC is.... A few years ago when Auburn went undefeated and didn't go to the National Championship game that was messed up.. The SEC is a good conference cause you have to bring you A+ game every week.. Just look Georgia beat Auburn, Auburn beat Florida and Florida beat Arkansas.... Then you can add in Tennessee and LSU.... Michigan is a good team no doubt about it but the SEC is the best conference in the nation... Michigan would go probably a good 9-3 if they can get thru some of the rival games.. South Carolina, Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee..... Just to mention a few..

Since speculation is all we ahve until January 8th 2006, lets look at this:
2005-2006 Football season (last year)
BCS Bowl Games
Fiesta Bowl
Ohio State 34 (Big 10) win
Notre Dame 20
Sugar Bowl
West Virginia 38
Georgia 35 (SEC) loss
Orange Bowl
Penn State 26 (Big 10) win
Florida State 23
Non BCS head to head match-ups
Capitol One Bowl
Wisconsin 24 (Big 10) win
Auburn 10 (SEC) loss
Outback Bowl
Florida 31 (SEC) win
Iowa 24 (Big 10) loss
Of these BCS and other major bowl games, I hardly see where the SEC is far superior than the Big 10, and this was just last year.
I say if Michigan were to play the Florida schedule they would have finished 12-1 or 13-0 .
Florida's tough schedule includes LSU (they only beat one top 15 team Arkansas), Tennessee (they didn't beat any top 15 teams), Arkansas in the championship game.
I am not taking anything away from Florida I agree they deserve a shot, but before everybody says the SEC is the greatest conference in the world lets get real!

They would most likely go 7-5. LSU, Auburn, Tenn, Florida, Georgia and maybe a few others could topple Michigan. They absolutely dominated Vandy this year didnt they? What did they win by .5? And Vandy is the worse team in the conference next to Miss. State.

Michigan would have gone udefeated and by bigger scores. The only two overall good conferences are th Big 10 and Big 12.The worst teams in these conferences would be at least .500 teams in any other conferece and top teams from the other conferences would be lucky to finish at.500 in the Big 10 or
Big 12.

you guy are all ridiculous. florida has the #1 ranked defense in the country. does that not mean anything? NUMBER 1. top 20 rankings: 5 sec teams - 3 big 10. hmmmmmmmmm... the big 10 sucks.... esp this year!! how can you compare the two conferences... do you even watch college football? espn? fox sports? all analysts agree hands down (and they NEVER unanimously agree on ANYTHING!!) that the SEC is the toughest conference. michigain in the sec..... dont make me laugh.

We Michigan alums would prefer NOT to compete in the semi-pro SEC conference. You have your conference, we have ours. We like it that way. How many of your linemen major in history, economics, engineering or pre-law? Ours do. With a long tradition of "scholar-athletes" we cherish the values of the Big Ten.

Vanderbilt played a lot of SEC teams and also Michigan. Michigan gave them their worst beating scorewise except Tennessee, so I think Michigan would do just fine in the SEC.

Michigan would go undefeated in that conference easily...There is only one team in college football that is better than Michigan...Florida playing in the national championship is just crazy to me...They are so completely average it is ridiculous!
