Def Beckham...maybe he's not at his best at the moment...but over the last few years he's been outstanding..Rooney hasn't been around long enough yet!
people slag Becks for not performing to his best in the big tournaments...but without him we wouldn't even have qualified for some of them!!

gotta agree with puffy even though as a Chelsea fan it breaks my heart but Paul Scholes is probably the most underrated and best player England have had in the last 20 years!!!

For the past 20 years, Scholes!
He is playing well this season and maybe not as high profile as others, but he was solid all around. He plays hard, is smart, and excellent team player.

Definitely Paul Scholes. One of the most underrated players of our generation. Only now without him for England are people starting to appreciate him. They dont seem to be doing too good without him, but man u are flying with him back to the peak of his powers.
