What should I do? I am an one of 2 executive assistants at a large company and I LOVE my job. I went through a 2 month probationary term with the temp agency and they will officially be making me permanent on Dec. 16th. But the bad news is that my period is late. I haven't taken a test yet. But if it comes back positive what should I do? I don't want everyone to be pissed, but I would also be working for the next 8 months. Help!!

First off sometimes you lose your period due to stress. Dont freak out yet. If you are pregnant dont tell your jobs yet. Give your self time to prove you are a great asset to their company and when you start to show tell them. Make it clear, if this is what you want, that you will come back after the 6wks period and be just as hard working as before. If it is a good company they will not be mad at you. If not then get out and find a better one, because if they dont like that your preggers they probably wont like that your a mom either, cause single woman tend to spend more time at work (over the regular 40) than Moms do

well, that's life for ya! congrats on the job and possibly the baby. First, they cannot fire you for getting pregnant! Also, you have rights under the family medical leave act that will allow you to keep your job while you are off to have the baby. 6 weeks for a regular birth and 8 to 12 for a c section. Good luck.
