I have 02 Caravan, can get warning light off by removing battery cable for a minute, but light comes back on after a few miles. Diagnosed as small emissions leak, have tried gas cap, no luck. Where can I look for emissions leak? Replace evaporative valve maybe. Don't want to spend big bucks on mechanic for simple problem, only a light, but it bugs me.

Pull the fuse for the PCM? I don't think that is going to get him very far!!!

There are lots of things that can go wrong in an EVAP system and no, the worst thing that can happen is not the light coming on! It can take hours to properly diagnose these problems and you need the proper equipment, like a smoke machine specially designed to detect EVAP leaks. Dodge has a list of tests that should be run for each particular fault code that can be registered by the PCM.

In other words, take to a real mechanic. This is not a do-it-at-home kind of thing.

Some auto parts store can diagnose the problem for you by checking the error code on an '02. It might also still be under warranty. It is also very common the O2 sensor is botched.
