Why does my CD player stop playing music and then start again?

I have a stereo with a four disc CD player. When I try to play my CD's, the music will cut off and then back on. i know the CD's themselves do not have any scratches on them (to cause them to skip) because when I play them on another CD player, they don't skip.

I've tried using one of those generic CD lens cleaners but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

It might be too dirty to clean with a Laser Lens Cleaner CD. Sounds like you'll have to clean it manually. This site should show you how:
