It was societal pressure. You were raised to think that you have to care when people are injured. You need to tear yourself away from these misconceptions and focus on feeling compelled not to revel loudly in her misfortune.

People may not like someone for personal reasons. But the fact that you have gone to school with her for so long you have gotton to know her and yes probably care. That is why you asked if she was alright. Class mates are like family members, you cant choose them, but you learn to love them.

You felt compassion for her. It's a natural human reaction if you are a deep caring person, it doesn't mean you fancied her. I think you will find you would have asked the same caring question to anyone who had been in that situation. Well done for caring.

Because you are a caring individual. It's in some of our natures to ask if people are ok when they get hurt. It's not anything wrong with you or anything its just being polite more than anything.

The reason is that almost everyone has a natural criteria that if we see something terrible our heart melts and we are keen to help and sort that problem. It was nice of you to ask her even if you liked her!

You can't help who you are truly inside; nice perhaps. Just shows when it really comes down to it your looking outside of the box. Being that besides the point of you not liking her the fact of the matter was, "is she okay"? no big deal right.

I think you did that because you're a good and mature person. Overcoming what we don't like is one of the signs of having your head on straight.

Maybe it was just concern for a fellow person, a nature reaction, similar to when you say 'bless you' when someone sneezes.

because you are a kind person, better than me anyway! I think if I were you I would have probably started laughing! Unless she was really injured of course...
