My Family and I want to visit a friend there.
We stay for 10 days on Christmas.
What can we do on this time and what should we see?
And is it very cold there?
Sorry, my bad English and greetings from Germany.

You write better than many natives!

Yes, it's very cold. We've been in the low 20's during the day, and as low as 8 in the mornings at night. You'll want to bring your warmest clothes.

Many good suggestions already. The art museum, the public museum, the IMax theater at the museum, shopping - for sure! I recommend Bayshore or Mayfair Malls, Brady Street and the Third Ward.

For some good German food if you get homesick, try Karl Ratzch's or even Maders. I believe KR is more authentic, Maders is ok but might be more touristy.

Be sure to see the lake. It's not the greatest lakefront, but what the heck.

The Mitchell Park Domes might be worth a visit.

As I write, I am at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
There are many things to see in Milwaukee.

The Art Museum is quite excellent.

The Milwaukee Public Museum is quite good also.

As for what is going on in general in Milwaukee, check the Shepherd Express, the local alternative newspaper.

Is it cold? If you live in Germany, nothing worse than you are used to in December. At the moment it is 32 degrees (0 C).
Here is the weather for the next week...
