Curds are usually seen in breastfed babies. The curding in their stools is from the milk protein. If the stools have yellow color and normal odor, there is nothing to worry about the curds. However if the stools are green and frothy stool containing small white curds and considerable mucus, it should always be considered abnormal - such stools usually are due to indigestion or infection.☺

I would lay off the peanut butter for now as she could be allergic to nuts. But as for how many poopy diapers she has, my little one didn't have very many the first week or so either, now she is consistently dirtying about 3 a day. She's also very gassy and will have a slight bit of poop in just her wet diapers but didn't have a bowel movement per say. The milk could be making her gassy, you may want to ease up on it a little, or switch to soy or lactose free milk for the time being to see if anything changes. My baby seems to get gassy when I drink milk so I have refrained even though I love it very much. When they weigh her at her appt they will base whether she is getting enough off that and not the poopy diapers. Good luck!

RE:
What are the curds in baby poop? Why do they have them in their diaper sometimes and not other times?

Well it depends on what your baby is eating. If she/he is old enough to eat solids then some food may change the may their poop presents itself. Sometimes my daughter has a runny poop while other times its a hard log..

That's so gross!!!! but sadly, disgustingly, true. I don't know. Partially digested food????
I wish I knew. Thanks for grossing me out. Now I won't be able to change my 8mos daughters' diaper for the next couple of months without thinking about this!!!!
I'm 9wks pregnant and my stomach isn't at it's best these days.

all it is, is partially digested foods...nothing to worry about. it happens most often when you switch foods on them. their stomachs get used to a certain food and then WHAM....they have to try and digest a new food.....your stomach digests each food differently.
