I recently purchased a PS3 and do not have high def. I saw it on display on HD and was blown away. I got home thought it would still be cool to play. Started to play and am very disappointed. Is it just me or do PS3 games without HD worse graphically than a PS1. How come PS2 games look so good on regular TV's than do PS3?

Get a high-def dude. I just purchased a DLP Samsung and an x box 360 a couple of weeks later. There is an option and a switch that you can adjust for high def and regular tv. The market trend is leaning towards high definition television and prices are fair. Sony is a business and knows the market trend and probably is hoping you upgrade your tv to a sony high def. Do not get a plasma, and/or lcd. Plasma cannot be worked on affordably and lcd's are overpriced. I know you just dropped 700 on a playstation, but now it's time to upgrade the tely. Good luck.

Well if you own a television that supports HD, the cables should to hook it up should not be that expensive. I have an HD 42" television but have been too lazy to go out and buy the XboX 360 HD cables. Good luck to you.

i really don't know what your talking about but i believe you... It is all a marketing game that Sony plays so that you believe the Ps3 is far superior than the Ps2 so you can waste your money on it but it worked didn't it...?

tough luck, dude. ps3 was specifically designed for hd. images not as clear in standard tv. you should have gotten a wii or 360 (or maybe you already have). better yet, save yourself some money to buy hdtv. lots of benefits. trust me.
