No such thing as 'it's your age, dear, deal with it' - you're as young as you feel!

However, it does sound to me as if you're not getting enough of certain oils - try eating avocados, brazil nuts and more fish (if that's allowed?).

I'd suggest codliver oil if your diet permits too, it works wonders on the hair. Failing that, try Holland and Barrett's supplement for 'Healthy hair and Nails' that's supposed to be very good and I think avoids animal-based supplements.

Steroids and other medications can also effect the hair, in which case there is very little you can do unfortunately.

Good luck!

It is probably because of your age. Sorry to say, but at 73, there's a good chance that your body's got better things to worry about than a full shiny head of hair.

Humans are not naturally vegetarian. Your body naturally requires SOME oils and protein. Try introducing olive oil, peanuts & other nuts into your diet. If it continues to be a problem consult your physician.

Vegetarianism has nothing to do with condition of hairs.Lack of Zinc may one of the reason. But at the age of 73 it is due to oldage and you must thank god for having hairs ,though thin.Lusture can be regained using some oil(almond oil) and conditioners, besides application of herbal shampoo once in a month.

I don't really like doing this, but as a quick fix I would recommend Herbalife products.. but as |I believe in the foodstuffs themselves, rather than living on such a diet, I'd encourage you to take a format of kelp, B vitamins and carrot juice adding lots of c fruits.

Although the family cat is 20..equivalent in human years X7..140..
her body is frail but she sure has a head of hair.. could this be to her choosiness in diet of one of the new scientific products in catfood?

So there you are, I wouldn't become dependent on these things, but (the aforegoing) sure helps to normalize thing whilst we are getting on track with our regular healthy food intake.

Well, your age is a significant factor in why your hair is getting so thin. As you age, your body's processes slow down. Hormones could also be a factor in this.

most certainly age makes an difference and any chemical processing you have done to your hair. ask your hairdresser what can you do to enhance what you have and how to restore some of your hair.
