Can anyone explain how the illinois constitution differs from the federal constitution.

The U.S. Constitution takes precedence over the State Constitution, meaning that if they conflict at all, that part of the State Constitution is Unconstitutional and will be overturned by the Supreme Court if someone brings a lawsuit regarding that issue.

Each state has their own constitution. The national one is probably more general.
