I thought real. We have had the real trees for years. Last year we switched to artificial. This year the same artificial. Gosh I love it. No nettles to clean up and the tree looks as great as last year and not a penny more was spent. If you want the cedar smell you can buy a room freshner and hang on the branches
We switched to artificial so our dog wouldn't try to drink the water out of the Christmas tree bowl. lol

Real by far. I have a fake one inthe closet. We purchased a real one this year. You can't get the smell from a fake. As long as you select the right tree, there isn't much mess. When you hold a branch pull backwards with your other hand. Just like stoking a cat the wrong way. If a lot of needles fall off, it's almost dead. Plus keep it watered and put sugar or some kind of sugary stuff in the bottom. Some put sugar, some put brown sugar, some even put coke (soda).

I'd had to go fake; soley because the time we tried a real Christmas tree we were finding pine needles in interesting places for months. I don't even know how they got in the couch, the blasted tree was no where near it. They hurt to sit on! No!
I can sniff pine trees all I want they're right there in the front yard. Where they should be. And I admit I'm not a huge fan of the outside no way.

Real Christmas tree no contest. The smell is wonderful and it's a great family experience to go out to a tree farm and cut one down. Plus, you're supporting local farmers.
Although, they soaked me $47 for a tree this year that's only going to be used for a month, so I may have to consider switching over to the "dark side" and getting a fake one!

Definitely real. Although it could be a little messy, It's always a pleasure to walk inside your home and smell the fresh aroma of a real tree. Although if you decide to get a fake one may I recommend a Christmas tree scented oil for a festive oil burner. I bought one from "Bath and Body Works" (it smells so real) and even though it's not real, you could still get the fell of a real one without the mess.

A fake one of course! They should stop cutting down trees and people should start buying fake ones! Because buying a fake tree helps the environment and also you dont have to spend 20-25 dollars each year for a tree!

Fake with the lights already attached.
I like the smell of the real trees but not the mess and trying to water it.

I've been doing a fake tree with multi-color lights for years and ornaments. I love decorating a Christmas tree.
