In my opinion he is dead and I hope he's not but my feeling is he is.

They Just found his body so I predicted correctly and they still haven't mentioned the cause of death.

I don't know. I can tell you that I traveled that same road in Oregon once with two other rugged men, but it needs to be closed down. It's more of a wilderness than a road and people could easily become deceived.
The normal route from the Medford/Grants Pass area to the coast is a beautiful drive that winds through the northern Calfornia redwood forest. You're not going to save any time going that dangerous route.

It's so sad for a family to go through something like this. I'm thinking he's a Popsicle by now or some bears breakfast. He only had tennis shoes on for Pete's sake. Makes you think about traveling in those conditions without provisions is a very big mistake.

I hope he is alive and well - I can't imagine being in his position. Having to leave your family at the most difficult time in their lives, only to try and help them. It had to be a heart breaking decision to make.

I hope they find him alive and well, but my feeling is the same as yours. with those conditions they were in and no food or water. His chances seem to be slim to none of being found alive.

He's probably dead because he didn't have anywhere to go or anyway to get food and other things.
