My blinker on the drivers side is out, and I don't want to get a ticket. I know it has to be an easy fix.
I cannot see how to gain access to the light compartment.

front light? If so then there are 2 L shaped rods on the headlight housing. You turn them and pull them up. Then the whole headlight assembly comes out and you can now get to the blinker light. the rear open the rear doors and you should see 2 screws on each side take out the 2 on the side that is out and the whole plastic light casing will come off.

It's easy...you drive into the Chevy dealership and say, "Man, this truck sucks gas...I feel so bad for taking fuel away from the rest of the world...besides, the turn signal light doesn't work and the steering wheel looks like it belongs on a farm tractor. Can I get a Cobalt that gets way better gas mileage?" Then you say, "Chevy dealership, you have a responsibility to demand better automobiles that get MUCH better gas mileage..." Then you kick the person in the shins and run away screaming, "I'm a hobbit!!! I'm a hobbit!!! I'm a hobbit!!!"

Try it, it works.

If you are experiencing this problem, you may have the same problem I had. Mine was totally related to my fog light. Once that was replaced and the broken piece was replaced as well, the blinker was okay. I wish you success in repairing this. Open up your headlights to get access to the fog lights. Remove the bulb and replace and check to see if the attachment to the bulb is broken. If so, the replacement is next to nothing. I payed 38.00 to get both fixed and that included labor.

I had a 2000 chevy silverado, and on it, if it is the front signal, there are 2 pieces of rods at the top that you take out and then the light comes out. You could always take it to an autoparts store and they will help you for free if you buy the bulb there.

If it is in the rear lights, you enter it from inside the vehicle. If you look closely in the area behind the light area, you will find an access panel that will have one or two screws in it. They no longer can be accessed from the outside.

Try getting to it from the front of your hood you will see a plastic cover, remove that and you will gain access. Other wise take it to a dealer supply them with the builb and they will do it quickly for you. I am sure at no cost either.
