Reunion is a nice area. It is close to DIA. It is also about 15 min away from Brighton. Brighton does not have the best schools but it is a decent town. I have lived there for a while. It is really growing. There is a movie theater, target, home depot, a hospital (they are building a new one too to move into), walmart, king soopers, safeway, etc. Brighton does have a higher Latino population. Reunion would also be about 20 min away from Aurora. I would stay away from that area. There is not a nice mall near there (although I have heard about plans for a new one). My recommendation would be to check what school district Reunion is in. If you are looking to live out that way, I would suggest living in Buffalo Run. It is near the golf course. There are town homes and family homes. It is closer to Brighton and to I-76. From there it is about 20 min to Denver (not in rush hour). The downside of living out there is that you have to travel "to town" to go to the store or to go to fast food places. Its about a 10 min drive.
The suggestion about castle rock....well that is over an hour away from Brighton and from Reunion it may be farther. It is a nice city but pricy.

Reunion is really close to Denver International Airport. I wouldn't say that it's near enough to Commerce City to be concerned as it's sort of out in the country. Also Brighton is about 15 minutes away and Brighton is turning really starting to shape up and change. they are buidling a shopping center out there and there, so you won't have to drive forever to get to shops and what not. I'm sure you can find several different priced houses from the 140's to the mid 200's all of the housing is fairly new so you shouldn't have major troubles having to replace things. There's even a big red barn with a swimming pool for the kids!I think that it's fairly safe there are most of the people living there are familes or people who fly a lot. If I were you I'd go out there and drive around to get a feel for the place. I wouldn't mind living there so I definitely think it's worth checking out.

It's mostly just a bunch of houses far away from anything except the airport. I suppose it would be safe for a small child, but frankly, I'd prefer to raise a child in an area where they could start to learn about things. And when they get a little older, it's likely they'll complain there's nothing to do.
If you want to stay away from the city, I'd prefer a genuine small town, with a "downtown" area, etc. Something like Castle Rock. Right now anyway, Reunion is pretty much just a new housing development.
I suppose if you worked nearby, it would be a way to avoid a commute.

i'd stay away. the houses look nice and priced reasonable but the area is not the best. commerce city and brighton are known for being low income, high crime, and bad schools. If you really like the reunion area, then go for it just be prepared that things may not turn out as they seem.

what's the reunion area?
I think you will want to stay away from Commerce City, not a real nice town, especally with children. There are better suburbs to live in, Littleton, Lakewood, Arvada to name a few

I have a friend that lives out that way. I have heard that it is a good place to live. Here is a great place to check out. They help with downpayment assistance and such. Especially since Colorado is one of the highest on foreclosure. I don't know about raising children... I think it is still a pretty new area.
