i am asking this question for a friend of mine.

ok, can a person who just got their Bachelor's and is now a registered nurse, is there any way that they can avoid working with children, not that they can't deal with them or anything but it is just that they would prefer do deal with older people, how would they go about doing this.

Apply for a position in geriatrics. Its the only area I know of right out of school you can get a nursing position without treating children.

try applying @ a nursing home or geriatric center. some place that only handles the elderly. That's the only way to guarantee no children.
