Noise is usually due to air in the system, bleed the air out!
Find the highest radiator in your house, and crack open the bleed valve, with the correct key, when water runs out tighten the valve.
OPEN all the valves on ALL of the radiators BEFORE you bleed the air!
Buy and fit thermostat valves to the radiators, and control individual room temperature that way!
Use the master thermostat to control overall temperature.

Closed Hydronic system or open Hydronic (steam) if its a steam system it should hiss from time to time from the radiators. I am not clear what valves did you mess with there usually aren't many accessible. and the ones that are should not be adjusted.
If your boiler is older than 25 years consider a replacement the newer ones particularly Weil McLain GOLD are super efficient approx. 90% (actual is 70% I think) the typical life expectancy of a cast iron boiler is about 25-35 years (steel boiler15-25 years)and both of these type units (contrary to popular belief) should be serviced every single year by a qualified HVAC technician. you may be in titled to a free annual service from your oil supplier check with them but schedule an appointment any way the unit will run more efficiently and be sure to let the tech know you messed with the valves so he can put things right again ASAP.

extra effective than probable the boiler warmth gadget nevertheless makes use of a thermostat which isn't something extra effective than a messenger. The thermostat sends a message to the boiler telling it to diminish on or decrease off. There are some radiators that have their own thermostat around the close off valve to regulate the messages that bypass to that distinctive radiator as adversarial to each and all of the radiators. If by employing changing you advise changing from boiler heating gadget to a gasoline or electric compelled air the value relies upon on many stuff, sq. pictures of the domicile, beginning form (slab, crawlspace or basement) and how might the duct paintings be run. i will assert it particularly is fairly high priced to alter heating types and in all likelihood a deal breaker in case you do in comparison to boiler heating.
