Although it COULD be normal, it may also be an underlying symptom to something wrong. So please do not take the advice of some of the women above saying, Yeah don't worry its normal. She needs to consult a Dr. Sporadic bloody noses could also mean a drop in blood pressure. My sporadic bloody noses and a trip to the Dr is what lead me to learn of some really bad low drooping in mine. Good luck to you and your girl.

It is very normal, particlarly in winter when the air is very dry. Right now the skin on the inside of the body is infsed with a lot more blood than normal. What once would only agitate and heal without any blood, appears to gush now. Blood production increases doubly during pregnancy ue to the amount of "production" going on in your Mom to be's body. The blood carries literally eerythinng to that uterus so it is not abnormal to sneeze and have a bloody nose, or cogh alot and get a bit of blood. As long as it is in moderation you are fine. If the bleeding does not stop then she could have anemia (alot of women develop this during pregnancy, due to low Iron). So if it is alot call the OBGYN, they will probably ask about her prenatal vitamins, what levels of iron were in her last blood tests etc. Just calm down. All will be fine.
Congrats,
Amy

I had at least one or two a day with my first pregnancy! It was horriable. I had to take kleenex where ever I went. I do hair for a living and I would be in the middle of a haircut and my nose would explode! I feel her pain! The doctor sayd thats its normal because of the increased blood volume in your body during pregnancy. Its Just a pain in the butt! As long as she doesnt have any other symptoms such as blurred vision, severe headaches or bruising Those could be symptoms of von willie bran disease, Like hemophilia. Just ask her ob next visit and good luck!

Hi! Im 25 weeks preggo and i have had the same thing! Dont worry it is a symptom of pregnancy and also for the season we are in...your skin dries out easier and same for your nostrils...the blood vessels in there become much more sensitive. Your honeys body is going through LOTS of changes. Shes ok though dont worry, i have even woken up in the middle of the night with one. Just put an ice cube on the side its bleeding and it will stop it faster!
Good luck and congratulations!!!!!!!

This is totally normal, it is due to increased blood supply. It also causes nose to be more nunny that is due to hormones. The only time I have ever had a nose bleed is when I was pregnant. She should check with doctor to make sure it is not blood pressure related other symptoms are dizzyness and headach.

When I was pregnant my nose was so dry and itchy all the time and I did have nosebleeds often. I think it sounds normal, but it never hurts to ask the doctor.

Everything should be okay. It could possibly be pregnancy related. It could be due to the hormones. Just talk tot he doctor and he will probably give you some advice.

You should see your doctor. Some pressure is normal but sometimes babies drop to early. The short of breath and being shaky might be first time mom nerves.

I had this problem a lot during my pregnancies. Try leaving a humidifier on in the room that she sleeps in at night. It might help.
