I do not use aftershave but I do notice the smell when others do. What is really apparent is that most men seem to use the same one, probably linx or similar, and they all smell the same. My advice is to go to an shop that is a little up market and buy him an aftershave that nobody else will have. This will show a little bit of thought and I am sure he will appreciate it. If it is a more exclusive one tell him not to put so much on at a time as the smell should be suttle and lingering and not overpowering.
Have a lovely, loving and blessed Christmas.

I think Very Sexy for him by Victoria's Secret makes a great men's aftershave. I loved when my husband wore it. He has sensitive skin and this didn't break him out at all. They have gift sets that come in a nice tote or gift box including a after-shave,cologne, and a body wash perfect for a holiday gift. They are the smaller ones but it's nice to take that with you instead of the full sized bottles if you go on business trips or vacation. Plus it gives him a chance to test out the other products and see what he thinks. They come in full sized bottles as well and are not expensive at all. After-shave is $15, Body wash is $10, and the Cologne ranges from $27 for the smallest size to $47 for the largest size. The other advantages are they make other products in the line. I know that not many companies make an after-shave that goes with the cologne (at least ones that smell good). I happen to be sensitive to strong smells and I personally think that when you get into layering a aftershave and a cologne and they are different scents it tends to be overwhelming. If all else fails you can return it with no hassles which is something you can't do with those drugstore sets.
Good Luck in your hunt :)

I recently started using Avatar, its very subtle but very nice and you don't need much for it to last a long time and its in-expensive. Cool Water is more expensive but a great smelling cologne, Drakkar Noir isn't bad and Tommy Boy is pretty nice too. I also like Adidas cologne, personal favorite. Goodluck

Do NOT buy either Brut or Old Spice. They are for old guys. Boss is great or how about getting him one of those selection boxes with 6 different trial size bottles in it. I had one last Christmas and I'm still using them!
