Other than making a mess of a wash cloth, does anyone have suggestions on how to get a peanut butter jar clean, quickly, and easily.

Put it out in your yard and let the squirrls clean it out for you!

If all you want to do is toss it in the recycling container, simply rinse it out with hot water and toss it in. There's not reason it needs to be "clean" for that. If by "recycling" you mean you are going to use the jar for some other purpose, squeeze a little dish liquid into the empty jar and fill with hot water. Let it sit for awhile, and it will all rinse out nicely.

Put it outside and let the chipmunks / squirrels clean it out for you.

Alternatively, add a couple of inches of water at the bottom of the jar, put the lid on and shake it vigorously. Dump the water out. Repeat until the jar is clean.

A dishwasher could probably clean it out if you have one.

Try putting it in the microwave for a minute or two. See if that turns the PB into liquid, then clean it out with a paper towel.

I wipe them out with paper towels then put in the dishwasher. Easy and works the best.

using really hot water will melt the peanut butter right down the gbage disposal. yea its messy but not if you leave the hot water running directly into the container. ps thanks for doing your part in recycling :)
