Lego sets.
I use to have a bunch of them, a 3' x 1.5' x 1.5' box full, from every set I ever got for birthdays and Christmas. In 10th grade I gave them away as a Christmas present for the little brothers of my first girlfriend.
I wish my job was designing new Lego sets and pieces. I'd settle for minimum wage, if I could do that for "work" =D.
Money would be my first choice though, but I think your asking about trivial "hobby" collections, not obvious "practical and valuable" collections.

well if I had money/jewellery/expensive stuff I'd be worrying the whole time about people trying to rob me so I'll choose books so I can have a fancy library in my house like the posh houses on tv lol :D plus nobody would steal books...would they?!
