My daughter is currently doing a project on Queen Victoria and as a requirement, has to wear dress similar to that of the Queen. I have searched EBay for such a dress and have looked online at other costume places but have come up empty. Do you know where I might be able to find a dress similar to Queen Victoria's?

Unfortunately, Queen Victoria dresses arent inspiring enough to produce for people to dress like her. Yes, she was a formidably long reigning monarch, but woof.

Anyhow,I dont know how much time you have to get a dress (please specify time) but you could get around it by getting a civil war dress from a civlil war re- enactor. What age is your daughter, because for elementary school sizes, the dress is not the same as if you would have gotten for an adult. the styles are only vaguely similar. Anyway to add to it, get a shawl and a black lacy head dress. Im sure your daughter has many pics of Queen Victoria to model herself after. However, the closest you might find here in the states would be a civil war reenactor dress, in a solid, dark color (she was in mourning) and a white shawl with a black lace veil type thing for her head. Dont forget the hoop skirt

Instead of looking under "Queen Victoria" in your search, try "Victorian" which was the popular style- named after her, which she wore later in her life. I've found several on eBay, and on line costume stores.
Also try the style names that she wore when younger: Regency, Empire, or Romantic Era at historical costume stores.
Or buy a pattern and fabric, and sew it yourself, or get someone to help you.

For an eBay seller, this would be a good one to start at:

Try a costume shop where they rent costumes for Halloween.

What kind of requirement is that? If that is your local public school telling you that is a requirement then I would tell them to shell out the money for it. That is ridiculous.
