Not sure how much the move would cost but if your salary stays the same your money will go much further in Houston.

I don't know how much it costs to move, but Houston is a great place to live. Cost of living is low and the pay is high. My parents got rich there and then moved to the country. There are suburbs around the city that are safe and have the small town feel. Have fun..I grew up there

It cost me $1500 for Budget truck rental (24 foot) to move from LA to Dallas. But that was 3 years ago and not including gas. You can go to Budget or UHaul website to get a free quote. After that, factor in the gas prices.

Of course, if you want to hire movers, it will cost a lot more.

About $3000-6000 (they charge you by pounds) depending on how much you take with you (mover company come and pack for you or you packed, they pick up is cheaper ), will you fly and have your car ship or you'll drive (from LA to Houston it would cost $500-1000 to transport your car). Do it yourself is always cheaper, but harder on you. Good luck moving.
