During a normal vaginal delivery, when the baby came out, did it feel like you were taking a huge dump? Or is that just what I thought?

I had three natural deliveries, no drugs or anything. My daughter was born in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. I did not poop any of the times.
I just meant the relief of pressure. I know I didn't take a dump, I'm not trying to make a joke. I was jsut wondering if anyone else thought this.

You are on the right track. It feels as if you're on a long trip and you been needing to have a bowel movement, and there's not another restroom for another five miles. There are contimous and streneous pain in your abdomen because you cant. It feels as if you dont **** soon you going to die.Once you get to one, you just release everything you've been holding in. There's relief at the end of the rainbow.

While your pushing you do feel pressure, but I can honestly say the feeling is very different. I had my children naturally. No medicine whats so ever. Once the baby is delivered its more of a pressure relief. But it doesn't feel any where near relieving oneself.
Your Additional Details: Yeah I think all women who have ever had to push know exactly what you're talking about.. When a women is told to bear down, a lot of nurses/doctors will then explain to them bear down means to push like you are having a bowel movement. Those are the muscles used to push the baby out. So yes, everyone who has every had the glory of pushing, knows exactly what you are talking about.

During my vaginal delivery I had an epidural so I was very very frozen..During the delivery the doctor had to use forceps to help my daughter out but the only thing I felt was pressure! I couldn't even tell when I was having my contractions..the doctor had to tell me to push!

So people feel that sensation. I felt like I was being ripped apart and giving birth to an elephant.
Last baby: natural delivery, no pain killers what so ever. 10 lbs, 10oz. 16 inch head.

I had both of my children naturally with no meds and to me it did feel like I needed to take a dump. It didn't exactly feel like I was taking one when they came out, but I think a lot of women would describe it the way you did.

When I was pushing my son out, I screamed that I was about to poop myself. The doctor said that was just pressure. So I kept pushing and suddenly felt relief. I swore I just pooped and wanted to hide. But it was the babies head. The same thing happened with his shoulders. If I did poop, no one told me.

yes, the sensation is that of a huge "dump". Some women actually do have a bowel movement on the doctor down below while pushing.

Yes, that's normal. I thought I had to go and instead I was pushing him out! It's from all the pressure.

You probably did take a huge dump. My husband told me I did. But I was in too much pain to notice.

yes it can feel that way because the baby is pressing on the large intestine as it moves thru the birth canal the pressure is lightened.
