My daughter is 5 months and she just started not minding the car seat but now I have to put on her snowsuit and we are back to square 1...
Check to make sure the straps are the right length and not too tight..I would also suggest one of those hanging bars with toys dangling from the handle..She will enjoy playing with this and it will keep her occupied while you go from point A to point B! Right from birth to 4 months my daughter also cried when I put her in her seat...I found that turning up the music in the car calmed her and put her to bed almost instantly..Also if you have a blanket over her, take it off as she may want to see the world around her and yah for those covers...infants hate them...it makes the feel like they are in jail! Good luck

babies are very clever beleive it or not she knows if she acts like that you will pick her up and then she will have what she wants being cuddled by her mummy my son was exactly the same i cuddled him so much and it made a simple situtaion a nightmare the best way to get her over it is just put her in the car seat or pram making sure the straps are not too tight and make sure she has nothing to whinge about like dirty nappy hungry wind etc so you then know she has no reason to cry and just get moving the motion will soon stop her crying i know it heart breaking at first but she will get used to it like try go out at the same time everyday make it part of her routine! i hope this works i wish somebody had told me this sooner good luck she will be fine you cant keep yourself indoors its not good for you or the baby good luck xxx

My goddaughter is the same way, she always has been, but she she just turned a year old recently, she fights going in but after a few minutes she calms down and enjoys the ride, it also helps if she has her pacifier and her sippy cup with juice although I know 5 months old is still a little young for juice...Good Luck.

Maybe the straps are too tight, or you have a clingy baby. Just ignore her and she'll get the idea that you're going and and she has to deal with it. You can also try attaching some toys to the carseat to keep her occupied.

My 3 month old already gets fuzzy when i put him in the car seat but as soon as he gets buckled in and has no choice he falls asleep. I really think they get mad because they are free to move around and then they feel trapped. But I don't think you should deprive yourself from going places because of her tantrums. I know it hurts to heard them cry, but you are the parent not your daughter.

Most babies don't like the restriction. My daughter is 1 and still fights getting in her carseat, but after she's buckled in and we start going, she stops crying. Try giving your baby a toy to occupy her attention once she's buckled in. It will get easier.

if she is laid down she wont like it.babies love to look around their surroundings. you are the boss not her.if you need to go out she is gonna have to get used to it. my middle daughter was exactly the same.
also ignoring helps as well, it seems mean but after a while she will get bored!

She is trying to impose her will on you.
Buy an i-pod. Turn it up loud and ignore her.
For the pram make a sign saying "I am ignoring her controlling behaviour, please do not interfere."
In the car it won't matter.

she may be starting to have seperation anxiety when she cant see you easily. unfortunately theres not a lot you can do but reassure her that you are still there and let her see that you come back when you do have to leave her line of sight.
