Even the Devil can quote the Bible.

Could it just possibly be that the Bible didn't get everything right? You may believe that the Bible quotes the word of God. But many others, even many ultra-religious persons, believe something quite different. Many believe that the Bible was the work of humankind, that it had many authors, from varied backgrounds and existing in different community settings and cultures. Many of these authors were men, some women, and all mortal. Mortals sometimes make mistakes. Fancy that. Ask yourself though why you wish to convert the entire world to your own worldview. What's up with that? And how's that working out for you?

Addendum:

Or maybe it's just your husband that you're trying to convert. It won't work. If he's bisexual as you've stated then that is what he'll aways be. That doesn't necessarily mean he can't be a good husband and father. In the appropriate setting he can. You should both consider therapy, separately and together. A word of advice though. If you truly want to save your marriage stop quoting bible verses, especially to your husband and stop viewing him as a sinner and telling him he sins. That will only drive a wedge between you and impel him further and further away. I genuinely wish you well and wish you luck in salvaging your marriage.

The word 'homosexual' does not appear in the Bible. That was placed in later versions by those who have a very specific agenda in mind.

That first verse you quoted is literally translated as "And with a male you shall not lay lyings of a woman". Any interpretation of that is up to the interpreter.

You married someone who's gay? That's a problem for you. You say you didn't know him well before marriage. Then why did you marry him? Why also do you persist in asking the same question multiple times?

I understand them as philosophies from 2,000 years ago from the time period we generally refer to as "The Dark Ages." Since then, we know all sorts of wonderful things about homosexuality such as the regular occurrence of it in nature:

http://www.jrn.columbia.edu/studentwork/cns/2002-06-10/591.asp

We also know there's other types of sexuality - not just homosexuality (heterosexuals, homosexuals, bisexuals, and asexuals). We know there's such a thing as "gender identity" - whether you feel like a man or a woman inside.

Oh, so right next to those phrases, how do you justify verses such as:

---

Do you eat shellfish?

Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Deuteronomy 14:9-10 says:
9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.

---

How about:

Leviticus 19:27 "You shall not round off the corner of your head, and you shall not destroy the edge of your beard"

Does you or your significant other shave or cut your hair around your temples? God hates that too.

---

Why not go after all the OT rules, huh? Why just homosexuality?

Find a new religion. One that doesn't involve such hatred and bigotry. The rest of us are tired of your intolerance of the ways people want to live their lives - in peace. We don't need you to tell us what we should or shouldn't do.

First you answer me this: Having apparently read Leviticus, do you sin by eating hamburgers, shellfish, or lobster?

Do you believe that people who get divorced and remarry should be stoned for adultery, since most people don't get divorced for the narrow exceptions allowed in the bible? Do you believe that you have the right to sell your children into slavery?

If not, why do you take other things in the bible the way you do? Why cherry pick what you like and leave what you don't like?

we have limited space here, and each of these verses requires a small sermon lol if you are really interested check out whosoever.org it has helped me find out that being a gay christian IS NOT AN OXYMORON. many churches are welcoming us into there churches NOT AS SINNERS but as pastors and lay teachers I've always thought that we as gay people give up our birth rite by letting the most narrow minded Christians set the agenda for God

You are quoting the Law. It may not be sex that besets you, but what sin does? (rhetorical)

You act as if you are sinless. But if you are honest, you will admit to God and yourself that you are a sinner, needing His grace.

Or will you adopt the doctrine of the Pharisees? Are you cleaner than anyone in the world? That's not a very humble approach.

What you are doing is the Fundies approach. You accuse sin when you are yourself a sinner. You may be able to fool your church, your pastor, but you cannot fool God into believing that you are perfect. He knows what perfection looks like, and it's not me, and it's not you.

Sounds like you have some repenting to do yourself!

I look at it this way, my dear. The Old Testement was for the jews not the Christians and Jesus' sacrifice overruled it in any case. Also, the other verses that are *not* OT those were given by Paul and *not* Jesus, who told us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Take the plank out of your eye, daughter, before working on your neighbor's speck.

Frankly I don't CARE what those verses say. I live in the REAL world, not some fairy tale. As Far as Separating from your husband, that's your decision, if you choose to be miserable and live a lie, that's your choice.

I agree with La Reina. The Bible says that homosexuality is wrong, but God will forgive you if you ask him to.
