I had the baby almost a month ago, but I haven't seen my doctor yet. I had an epiosotomy, but my stitches have dissolved and I feel great.

I had sex 4 weeks I couldn't wait any longer. If you do decide to use protection and tell him to be very very gentle. If you riped or torn I would wait until you felt ready.

I was in the same position as you..having to be cut..Mine healed rather fast too and I had sex 3 weeks after..
Nothing is going to happen but I must warn you as I had this scare that your chances of getting pregnant right after childbirth is soooo up there so be very careful..You will get birth control at your six week appointment so for right now use a condom...

you are not more likely to get pregnant again! who is that person? ha. really, it is up to you, but it may just be a little more uncomfortable. keep in mind whether you wait 3 weeks or 8 weeks, that first time back won't be too enjoyable. i know plenty of women who have had sex after about 4 weeks, with no problem. if you had a particularly tough vaginal birth, or you tore, you might want to wait the full six weeks for your own sake. or if you had a c-section, you may still be sore at 6 weeks. just take it slow and easy, and don't forget to use some form of birth control, because 6 weeks is awfully soon to be getting pregnant again!!

as long as you use birthcontrol if you are not trying to get pregnant, I think you know your body better than anyone, if you want to give it a try and you feel ok to do so go head. w/ my first I only waited 2 1/2 weeks, w/ my second i waited 10 1/2 months (do to husband being deployed lol) but I would have waited at least the whole 6 weeks if not more just because of my own discomfort from getting a really big nasty tear during delivery.

Doctors now are mostly saying 4 weeks and no longer saying 6.

But its very important not to have sex before 4 weeks. It can kill you. Everything is opened up and yo ucan get an air embolyism and can die if it reaches your blood stream.

And a woman can be more fertile so soon after giving birth.

Why do you think its not too uncommon to see kids born 10-11 months apart.

Nothing...if you feel like you are ready...then knock yourself out! I usually only waited about 2-3 weeks(once the bleeding had stopped) Just remember that you should go slow and use lube especially if your nursing. If you dont want to get pregnant right away then use a condom. As long as you feel ready its fine. But if it starts to hurt you should stop(duh)

first off, you are VERY firtle right now, so if you do have sex make sure you use protection. it's very possible that the first time post partum could be painful for you, because it takes awhile for your body to get back to normal. but since it's been a month, you should be allright. just make sure you have plenty of lubrication and take things slow. and if the pain is bad, stop and find other ways to please each other. good luck and congrats!

You could get pregnant so use a condom. Drs worry that you aren't healed enough. My husband and I only waited a month too. Take it slow and keep yourself lubricated. It might hurt to don;t be surprised.

It will hurt, and if you have stitches, they can tear. Me and my hunny did it 3 weeks after our daughter was born. I tore a little, and it hurt like hell. Also, when I went to my 6 week check, my Dr. could tell, and she told me to wait another 3 weeks.
