I would suggest maybe a manicure, seeing is that he is using his hands all day, that might be a good way to pamper him. Most men like that sort of thing. Or maybe a gift certificate to a nice restaurant. Good Luck!

Money is always welcome at Christmas, you could give him a little present, like a box of candy and put some money in an envelope, if you want to give him a present to open.
Most people like Blockbuster gift certificates, and if not, they have a great regift potential!

I don't see why you made that last statement, because his orientation does not have one thing to do with it and to me it seems like you are emplying that you can't be a male hairdresser and straight at one time; but here is my opinion, get him something that he can really use, which should be no problem since I am assuming that you are a gay man.
