I mean so the words come at the same time the people are talking.

if you are having problems like that were it seems the words are dubbed i would say you need to take it back to the store.........

we have a dvd recorder and never have problems like that.........even if we do change the speed to have more space on the disc..............

it shouldn't matter what speed it is on. the speed is for the amount of time you will have available to record on....and the quality of whatever it is you are recording.

Set your recording speed to the slowest level. It will produce the best quality copy.

Huh? What are you talking about? Are you copying a dvd? Most programs you can set on max and it will sync the audio and video automatically......

Just set it to your computer's recommended level, that way you won't have any problems.
