when the time is right for both of you. also it depends on how long you have been together. when you are comfortable with giving up all your personal space and letting him into your life completely. i wouldn't move in with him if there if not a definite future for you two. if you can't really see him as the "one" just keep things the way they are and enjoy tyhe little time that you do spend together. you wouldn't need the stress and drama otherwise.

Tough question, and its really only one that you and your boyfriend can answer. How long have you been going out? Is it VERY VERY serious? I can tell you from experience, if its not a long term thing (ie youve only been together a short time) - then its not a good idea. Its a lot harder to break up and move on (if that ever becomes necessary) if you guys are sharing rent and bills. And it will change things dramatically. You never REALLY know someone until you live with them. Think about everything.....and dont just do it to save money "because youre both paying rent and it just makes sense."

Good luck!

My wife and I moved in together after only dating for about 6 months. We've now been together for a little over four years; 3 years dating and one year married.

Moving in together is a huge step that is not to be taken lightly. I don't think waiting until marriage matters though. The reason couples have problems when they first move in together is because both of them must readapt to sharing what was previously exclusively theirs. They have to learn new ways of going about their daily routines and compromise about things that annoy each other.

The most important thing that a couple that moves in together has to learn to deal with is alone time. Everyone needs time to themselves. Both of you will need to learn that it's okay not to spend every moment with each other at home so that you can both do the things you need to do for yourselves.

Moving in together is a fairly strong commitment though not as much as a marriage. Do you feel that you want this relationship to be long-term? Does your boyfriend feel the same way? Then it is time to live together - millions of couples do it now.

Never. Or after you have been together for a very, very long time. And make sure that you get a place that is big enough that you have room to get away from each other if you need to.

When you are married. Seriously. You need to be that serious about someone. Splitting bills and time and other things are harder than you think.

If you aren't able to discuss this freely, then it's not time for you to be doing either of those things. He was burned and it sounds like he isn't ready to make that committment yet, but wants to be. Keep dating and when it comes time to make a committment, I would wait for the committment (for me that would be marriage) before moving in together
