Hi all

I need to temporarily move some pipework. Is it ok to unscrew a compression joint, then later to refit the joint using the same olive and the same connection?

Or do I have to cut off the olive and start again further up the pipe.

What is the official rule on this?
Thanks
Matt

They are made to be reused. As long as the compression nut does not get stripped or cracked you should not have a problem. Do not over tighten. You can also use some Teflon tape on the male treads to help prevent leaks.

Yes you can, they are made to take apart and then put back together, just don't cross thread when starting the nut again and don't over tighten and you'll be fine. Good luck!!!
