I would say to a pan-sexual person there is a significant difference
wiki agreed
Pansexuality (sometimes referred to as omnisexuality) is a sexual orientation characterized by a potential aesthetic attraction, romantic love and/or sexual desire for anybody, including people who do not fit into the gender binary of male/female implied by BISEXUAL attraction. Pansexuality is sometimes described as the capacity to love a person romantically irrespective of gender. Some pansexuals also assert that gender and sex are meaningless to them

Oh what a good word!!! Pansexuality menaing the acceptance of all sexes would esssentially encompass bisexuality, except that pansexuality would also include asexual behaviour and bisexuality would not...techincally. That is a really good word.

Pansexuality means you'll try anything, anywher, with anyone...
Bisexuality, means you're sexually, physically, and mentally attracted to a man and/or a woman

They are largely the same thing in that both terms refer to sexual attraction to both genders (more or less) equally. the distinction refers, I believe, more to the expression of that interest.
One who self-identifies as bi-sexual would, in my opinion, tend to become involved with one or the other at a given time or only have relationships with one gender but acknowledge interest in the other.
Whereas a pan-sexual would tend to be more overt (and active) in their attraction. Pan-sexuals I have known also tend to be more sexually outgoing and experimental. For example a male/female couple who involve themselves in open relationships, 3-ways dom/sub relationships etc.
Frankly, I tend to eschew labels regarding sexuality and really prefer the concept of simply allowing individuals to form relationships (sexual or otherwise) based on mutual interest and attraction rather than the need to pigeon hole by arbitrarily created categories.
However these are only my opinions. attached are dictionary definitions of each word so you may draw your own conclusions
