i tend to say half full, i don't know why though

I'd say half full. It sounds, well, fuller!
Half empty sounds empty!

I usually say Half Empty but i look at it as being half full.

if i've drank half the glass then it's half empty. If i've only filled it half full - then it's half full lol. If i didn't fill it then I don't really mind either way.
