I am thinking saying something like "This is my honeymoon, can I get an ocean view?" in spanish and handing the person at the desk checking me in an american $20.

Let me get this straight you want to lie to get an upgrade? That is terrible and I can tell you it won't work. You get what you pay for. If you want an Ocean view, pay for it. Plus if you are traveling during high season then there is a good chance they won't even have one available.
By you lying about this, it is like you lying about your food being bad to get a free meal. There are hotels that do upgrades for Honeymooners, but they have wised up to guests like you and require you to SHOW your marriage license proving that you are Honeymooners. But because of those that will lie about this, they needed to change policy to give these extra bonus' for actually Honeymooners.
Best advice is loosen the clip a little and pay for what you want instead of scheming to get it.
