I have an '03 PT Cruiser. When I drive I can hear and feel a grinding/rubbing noise. The faster I go, the faster the noise gets. Also when I turn the noise and rubbing almost goes away. It happened to me a while back and they said it was cuz I had a bubble on my tire which they replaced and it went away. Now it's back and louder than ever. I don't know if it's a coincidence but it started up again once the temp. outside got below freezing. Any clues to what this might be? Thanks.

You've probably got a wheel bearing bad. Swerve back and forth in the road, if you hear it louder turning one way than you do the other, it's the opposite side wheel bearing. (Example: noise when you turn left- right side wheel bearing is bad and vise versa.) If you check and it's not the wheel bearing, you could have a bearing in the differential in your transmission going bad.

A bubble on you tire? What's that got to do with grinding? Unless the bubble is so big it's rubbing on the fender or the strut...
You might want to check your brakes also

It could be any one of a number of things, from simple to very serious. I would suggest you not drive until you find out for sure what the problem is, unless you want to be going down the road at 65 and have your left front tire come off -- or your steering decide not to work --

Seriously, get it looked at now.

If it's a grinding noise it's your brakes going. Get them checked right away.

Have you had anyone check your rim? It could be bent or warped and causing you this problem.

have your brakes and rotors checked first or it could be cv joints or axle bearing.
