Should they also support the family's right to kill them?

I don't think so Alex. But I am in favor of severe pummeling about the head and shoulders until they go away forever. These people are living way outside the reality most of us live in. That woman...whew, think of the poor sap who wakes up every morning to look at that plate of raw liver and doesn't puke...now that's a crazy man.

People, people...the man is using sarcasm to make a point...loosen up.

The ACLU isn't continually on the incorrect part. They take care of the civil rights of all human beings, no count if or no longer they consider them or no longer. this is the only thank you to be trustworthy. effective, situations like this get the main insurance in the information, yet they do no longer seek for out those situations for that reason. They address all civil rights situations, vast or small, however the super debatable ones are those you hear approximately. I disagree only as strongly as you do with what Phelps and something of the Westboro church individuals are saying, yet i do no longer disagree with the ACLU's efforts to take care of everyone's rights to loose speech, even while they'd disagree only as strongly as we do with what's being mentioned. i desire somebody will detect a criminal and nondiscriminatory thank you to maintain those human beings at a extra respectful distance from funerals, yet they are in a position to't be silenced thoroughly by way of fact this isn't any longer the yank way.

Sorry to have to make you think, but under what statute/on what legal basis would you bar such protests?

On the grounds that anti-American speech should be illegal? Or that it may really piss people off.

When I hear people like you opine on speech issues as you do, I thank heaven that the ACLU is around.

Yes the ACLU even protects every Americans right to be an insensitive, offensive jerk too. And not just speech you like. ALL OF IT! Get it now?

It's about the right, not about good taste.

I wonder if they'd support soldiers' rights to demonstrate at ACLU offices. We can bring bags of dog droppings and post signs saying horrible things about people in the ACLU.

Does it matter, that should happen anyway. To protest at a soldier's funeral is disgusting. It shows a complete lack of respect for that person and their family. This freedom of speech imposes on the right of those of the funeral, because they can not have a decent funeral, so it should be unconstitutional to protest at anyone's funeral.

Of course. If the accused agreed to publicly announce they were wrong in their actions but are grateful that Romero & Co sought to defend them.

When will we have a government and Supreme Court that will interpret the First Amendament correctly?

Speech and orginizations that espouse revolution and chaos towards America should not be protected.

No, the families do not have a constitutionally protected right to murder.
The protesters have a constitutionally protected right to assemble.
This is not to say I agree with them, but the law is the law, you can not pick and choose which parts you follow just because you dont like it.

It would be nice if, just for one, a question involving the ACLU presented all the facts.
