Sure. School leavers get the "Not enough experience so we won't give you a job, but no job from which to get experience" loophole. Just like you wouldn't find a granny in Faith or Topshop.

Age Discrimination came into force in Ireland before it did in UK. There was a case last year I think against Ryanair. It was their recruitment advert that caused the problem: they put in their advert something along the lines of enthusiastic, energetic ....etc and painted a picture of someone who was young.
The claimant won I believe.

Do you mean employment tribunal cases? If so I don't think any have reached the tribunal yet but then it takes a few months to get there. I would think the start of next year will bring a raft of them and then we will get the start of case law and really begin to understand the implications in the work place.
It's just the calm before the storm at the moment.

Age discrimination is a minefield. I recruit for a large multinational and am constantly on my guard as what I say and how I say it. Words like dynamic, fast moving, experience are a definite no go area. Absolute nightmare!!!!

Early retirement, when should a person retire (there will be a strain on pensions because of the living longer and long due to better technology and medication) however in the times of the biblical times people were documented still living at 300 years old, voting age - when should a person be eligible to vote in elections, and mandatory ages of driver's license.
