I don't know. However, the following article shows that MIT's tuition at the time was about $800-900 per year.

The cost for 1970 for MIT is about the same as what Ivy League universities cost at the time (between $4000 and $5000) So, I suspect that this is close to Harvard's tuition in 1950.
