First you need to figure out why you are depressed. Write everything down that you think could be leading you to feel like you do. Then go over the list and determine what is worth being depressed over and fixing and what is worth throwing away and chalk it up to a learning experience.
A lot of times we keep inner feelings built up in us and dwell on the negative instead of moving forward and finding good in the bad. It is not good for you physically or mentally.
If you work with this list you made faithfully and throw out all the bad you can adjust your way of thinking and begin to breath again. Chances are when you look at the list you will realize that much of it is not worth what it has made you feel like.
Start every morning with positive thoughts. Pretty soon you will retrain your way of thinking and the world will seem a lot better to you and you will be able to accomplish anything.
Just try it. If you do it it will work and it will work without drugs or the fear of getting more depressed.
Good luck to you. Remember there are always those that have it a lot worse than you do. Be grateful for what you do have and the fact that you have the ability to fix anything you want to fix.

Depression is a mental and physical state that needs to be addressed by professionals. I know from first hand experience. Those who have not experienced real depression have no idea what it feels like and there are no quick fixes. Speak to your doctor and let him/her assist you in addressing the situation and probably getting some help though prescription medication.
There are also many types of temporary and seasonal depression. A professional can ascertain the differences for you.
Others say "hang out with friends". Nice idea IF you have friends and if those friends care about you.

If you know your depressed then you know the symptoms. Make yourself go out and enjoy life even if you don't want to. Hang out with friends and family. And find someone that you close with to talk about what can be causing the depression. If you can figure out the cause you can resolve the issue and feel a lot better.

As an everyday "thing" I save anything I get that makes me feel good, and notes or letters or cards that "praise" me,,pictures that make me smile, or pictures of people or places that are dear to my heart...these are kept in a file folder to be reviewed when I'm "down"...they help...
As for really depressed , I curl up in the Fetal position and have a good cry..then review ny folder...find something that will make me laugh...( and you have to make yourself do this)..
Don't know what will work for you..hope this helps...

the quickest thing i have found is to call a friend. i don't always need to tell them i'm depressed. if i just say i need human or adult conversation they understand and we just talk about anything. even ten minutes talking seems to sway my thoughts so that i'm not dwelling on my sad or depressed feelings.
i sincerely hope you feel better.
