original message-
im starting a new charity in my area that provides carseats and strollers to needy moms and dads in my area. so far ive had good return with donations, and am about do my first carseat drive. do you think this will take off and people will have a need for this? you would think somthing like this already exsits. but it doesnt. just booster seats. and there are some ways to get one but its very diffecult for most people. i will provide strollers as well, and be a resource for other needs, such as food and clothes. so what do you think? am i wasting my time, or will this be a succses?

of coures this will be usefull!!! And I commend you for doing this!! Not a lot of people would go out of thier way to help those less fortunate! KUDOS!!
The only thing i am concerned about is people giving you used baby seats that are out of date (somepeople hold on to that stuff FOREVER) be careful to take in to account that carseats actually have an experation date,,,it should be on the back of the seat itself!!!
Again GREAT job!! And GREAT innitiative!!!
I'd love to help in any way....and may i ask just what IS your local area...thx!!!
feel free to e mail me

Something like that already does exist, in Arizona anyway. They don't give out strollers but if you're on acchs and your pregnant, they have you set up an appointment and you go and pick one out. I think that if you go to your community health center they may have something similar. I think that it is a great idea to expand that to other parents who make a little too much to qualify for acchs but could really use the assistance.

I think what you doing is Great. Our car insurance gave us a real nice one. So, I know what you do will be of help to people.
Go here; http://www.irs.gov/charities/index.html Then you can learn how to give people a Tax Receipt for their contributions.

Just a suggestion. If you're receiving used items, be sure to check for recalls.
