You mentioned more economical - this could be a good reason. Different people have different reason/s.

Walmart is just like any other super or hypermart. Normally people shop to get stuff for their home. Probably people shop in Walmart because they got everything under one roof.

Believe it or not most do it unconsciously - People do shop because it gives them the power to buy something or in control, relieve stress, window shopping ...etc

Having said that Walmart strategic intend and values are acceptable by more people than other super/hypermarkets

Actually most people like having a Walmart to shop at. The downside of Walmart is their arrogance, disruption of the status quo (many people hate change), Walmart's tendency to replace quality products with cheaper Asian junk (most of us buy it and drive out the quality), their large operation creates noise and traffic congestion (particularly for the unlucky rural dweller next door), small businesses that are unable to compete (Walmart would be wise to help these guys find their niche).

this is all concerning the skill of huge enterprise, and what it means while there is what's close to to a monopoly (oligopoly). the reason human beings hate Walmart are similar to the justifications human beings hate Microsoft, Intel, etc. With this way of extensive enterprise as Walmart, it makes it perplexing for different businesses to compete. Walmart can furnish decrease costs to the buyer, by way of fact they have extra effective procuring skill. they are in a position to in essence undercut any opposition and make it perplexing for different businesses to start or stay in enterprise. oftentimes as quickly as the enterprise gets too vast, the U. S. government will ultimately stick this is nostril in and destroy the enterprise aside. similar to what they did with ordinary Oil, and AT&T (Ma bell). besides the fact that, till the government gets in touch, smaller businesses oftentimes have an extremely perplexing time competing.

Wal-Mart carries everything. If you are a single parent and you need lunch stuff for the kids, need to get a some curtains, and some fast food for dinner, Wal-Mart takes cares of all the needs. It's the one stop shop.

Because they come in and take over a town, forcing all the small businesses out. Unless you want to drive for an hour or two there is no where else to go.
