I almost did once. I fell out of a boat into a river and my flip flops fell off. But a nice man in another boat managed to grab them both as they were floating by and was nice enough to return them to me. I almost drowned, but I did get my shoes back.

My mom did. She was probably a freshman and she was walking to church and acting silly with her friends. She kicked her leg up and her shoe landed on top of the church.

Actually, I've never lost just ONE shoe.

I've lost a pair of really nice flip flops at the beach. I was taking them off to wipe off the sand before I got into the car and I sat down, slammed the door, and just forgot them there on the ground!

Another time, my dad was driving me back to campus when I was in college from a weekend at home. My mom said, "You forgot your running shoes!" and she put them in a plastic grocery bag for me to carry them in. I threw them in the back of my dad's pickup. And my mom yelled out the door at us, "Don't forget to throw the garbage out! (we have our garbage cans at the end of our drive.) So when we get to the garbage bins, my dad jumped out to throw out the garbage, and thought my shoes were garbage too since they were in a knotted grocery bag! I got to school, and I was like, "Dad? Where's my shoes?" and he said, "Ummm.... they weren't in a grocery bag were they? They were some really nice blue ROXY shoes, they were so comfy.
