It's the second day of the weekend, so the end of the week. Also, we're supposed to rest after working, so this is the rest day before the start of the new week.

On the other hand, my ansafone uses Sunday as the first day of the week (when I set the day & time Sunday is day 1).

According to the calendar it is the first of the week, but God stated to rest on the 7th day which would make it the end of the week. It's the last day of the weekend, Monday is the first day back to work and the beginning of the week if you ask me.

Sunday is the christian last day of the week..that is why traditionally no shops were open cos its the lords day of rest etc. If you are Jewish i think its Saturday? I know its different cos i remember 20 yrs back Bentals (a shop in Kingston) and John Lewis (another Jewish co) used to close during the weekend on Saturday or was it monday cos they were Jewish practising or something.
