There are many product on the market that cater to curly hair. You can get shampoos and conditioners that are designed to moisturize your hair, but not weigh down your curls. Pantene Pro-V, Herbal Essence, TIGI, Redkin and many others in many price ranges all make "for curls" products. Take a look at all your choices next time you're in the drug store.
I personally like the Catwalk Curls Rock line by TIGI. The Curl Amplifier is very nice, and I usually use that product alone. It's a creme that you pump a small amount of onto your hand than then work through your hair (wet, damp or dry; you get a slightly different effect.) You do need to wash your hands after applying the product or else you'll feel kind of sticky, but I don't consider the product messy.
I also like the JONATHAN products. They are endorsed by "celebrity stylist Jonathan Antin." I had to go to a salon to find these, and they are a more expensive product, but they work well for me. QVC also carries this line.
If you are looking for a more personal assessment of products for your hair you might want to go to a hairdresser and ask for his/her opinion. That's how I've found my favorite products.

Use Aussie Scrunch Spray (which you can buy at Walmart or Walgreens for like $3) by spraying it all over your hair and then scrunch your hair and then blow dry your hair with a difusser. i have naturally curly and this is what i use. It works well and everyone tells me they love my hair

Get yourself some mousse. It's easier to work with and works the same. Or try some of those curl-enhancing serums.
