If you are not sure how to feed the baby you need to talk to the babys ped. and get some advice on formula. Is the mother breastfeeding? With a two day old baby I am thinking that it sounds like mama might be going through postpartum blues ro maybe even depression. She may need help as well. Have you though about asking your mother to come to help you. If she can fly from florida. As far as feeding as baby that young eats every few hourts. You need to buy some bottles and get them washed and steralized. You can buy formula premixed so all you have to do is poor it into the bottles and refrigerate. If you go to a hotel try using a cooler to store the bottles. You will need to heat the formula until it is just a little warmer than room temp. You can do this by holding the bottle underwarm water. good luck

OMG i am so sorry to hear this. First you do need to get a lwayer before you leafve the state you are in. She could be saying these things out of anger for soem reason. But you need to see a lawyer, if you leave the state with your son she could file charges. Please you do not want this. Also go to a health clinic and see if a nurse can show you how to make your sons formula. Its fairly easy, but you want to be sure. See if oyur parents can come to you for a few days while you talk to a lawyer. Remember its always better to be safe. You can call the police but i dont htink there is much they can do for you. But try the non emergency number in your area see what they say. They might even be able to send someone onver to be a witness to what she is saying. Hope all goes well with you.

Good grief, it may just be hormones, so I'd be cautious about leaving the state w/out the authorities knowing where and why. In case she snaps out of it and goes berserk and says that you kidnapped the child. You definitely need to be with family right now. Go buy some formula and make it per instructions, as for feedings. I'm sorry for your situation, but rest assured that, that little blessing of a baby boy will make it worth all the trouble his mother is causing.

Did anyone consider for a second that the Mother of the child may be suffering from post partum depression?
I agree that you should take the baby legally (make sure others know the situation so you dont get in trouble for kidnapping). But make sure she is taking care of herself. Im worried that you will leave and she will do something bad to herself due to depression. Maybe you could get a friend to sit with her while you are gone or take her to a clinic to get some meds.
Good luck with everything!

ok, you need to go buy some bottles and 0-6 month nipples to fit the bottles, you need to wash them and put them all together, buy some formula, read the box for directions, to start buy the kind where you add a can of formula and a can of water, it'll be easiest for you to start a king like similac is really good, you could call your doctor and explain the situation and they may tell you a different kind which may be better for your baby. so you mix a can of previously boiled but now room temperature water to a clean jug and a can of the formula and mix, then pour aprox 2 ounces (to the 2 on the bottle) of formula to the bottle and warm it a bit (NOT TOO HOT!) in a pot on the stove and pour it back in then feed it to him. if you know how please get in touch with me, id be happy to help you answer any other questions!

call the doc. sounds like postpartum depression to me( I had it 2 times it is nothing to mess around wit) I packed my bags to leave my husband a 2 day old. the doc gave me pills and i got better with time. It will be some work but try to get her to the doc. She might not know what she is doing. Try to work with her. If you need to feed the baby get formula( if you have to buy it get powder and mix it with 4 oz of water for 2 scoops and feed him 2Oz's and burp him then feed him the rest if he is still hungry, he may not want any more than 2 or 3 Oz's. I wish you luck. email me if you need to

why is the baby out of the hospital at only two days old? get full custody now so she can't just take him back in a year or so. Go to the store and buy a large can of carnation powder formula. and a few bottles and a bottle cleaning brush. follow the directions on the can good luck.

Please get some help. Call any local parenting clinics around your area and they will be sure to help you out for free. You will need formula which you can get at any local drug tsore, or grocery store, and a bottle as well of course. They can guide you on how to mix the formula and how much to feed. You should call the police I think, or someone in her family, she seems really messed up. I hope this works out for you. If you need to talk or have more questions email me at: juliettetersigni@sympatico.ca

The very first step is to have the situation legally documented--call the police or go to the police station and tell them you would like a police report made that the mother abandoned her child. You also will need to make sure your name is on the birth cert. and get a copy as soon as possible. Good luck with the little one.
