I don't think you can get much other than a job teaching English with a degree in English. And that usually requires a Masters degree or higher for the college level. If you want to teach high school or middle school English, you will also need a teaching degree. (College professors don't have to learn how to teach.) There are some jobs that require you to have a Bachelors degree. They usually don't care what you majored in. They just use the degree requirement to lower the amount of applicants. Those jobs aren't that great, but they pay more than minimum wage. Unfortunately, some people never use their Bachelors degrees for anything and end up working at some job they could have gotten with a high school diploma. I was in that situation with my Bachelors in Social Science. That is why I am working on a Masters now.

Why not try the "Teaching Abroad" companies. They pay well, you can travel the world, and the only thing they require is that you Pass their examination(s) in English to qualify. Once that is done, you can teach anywhere in the World. Transportation is provided, good salary, health care, etc. and you only need to take a 1-2 year contract. Check it out... it sure beats the fast food industry's "minimum wage"...

Go check out a staffing agency near you! I manage one and see loads of people with no real working background get a start in a agency. Just call around and see what staffing agencies would be Ava to help you. Make sure to also ask what you need to bring and how long it will take to sign up!
